In spring of 2010, Metro began preparing the Eastside Transit Corridor Phase 2 Project (Environmental Impact Study/Environmental Impact Report EIS/EIR). The project consists in the study of four different alignments to recommend the advancement of two light rail transit (LRT) alternatives. MORNGER’s scope of work consists in contacting, meeting and coordinating with public and private agencies to complete utility As-Built information along the proposed alignments. MORGNER is also in charge of preparing composite existing utility plan sheets and in preparing rearrangement composite existing and proposed utility plan sheets.
The goal of the proposed study is to improve mobility in the region by connecting to communities farther east of Los Angeles to Metro’s regional transit system. Communities in the project area include Commerce, Montebello, Monterey Park, Pico Rivera, Rosemead, Santa Fe Springs, South El Monte, Whittier and unincorporated portions of Los Angeles County.
