Agency: Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD)
Morgner’s Role: Morgner/EV Structures, D’Alfonso EV Design, Engineer, Permit, Construction
Project Description:
Morgner/ EV Structures / D’Alfonso JV partnered with the City of Los Angeles, Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD), Los Angeles Water and Power and BMW of North America on a new electric vehicle (EV) program to help the City achieve its clean transportation goals as part of Mayor Garcetti’s Sustainability plan.
Morgner worked with our network partners, responsible for supplying and integrating its software with LAPD’s Fleet management program. The team was responsible for the overall design-build management of the project, ensuring that the requirements of the agreements with each of the project partners were implemented. In addition, we were responsible for ensuring that issues related to scope, schedule, quality and budget were resolved in a timely manner.
This Phase One project was the largest electric vehicle fleet and charging installation to ever serve a police department. The initial site walk occurred in November 2015, with finalized commissioning by June 2016. The Morgner/EV Structure and D’Alfonso teams exceeded the expectations of the Mayor and Police Department by completing such an extensive and multifaceted charger installation in such a short amount of time.
