Under Ms. Morgner Lukeman's leadership, Morgner has expanded its services to include Noise and Vibration Monitoring, showcasing her commitment to adapting and diversifying the company's offerings.

Like her father and predecessor, Monique is recognized as a strong advocate for small businesses, including LGBTQ-owned enterprises by actively supporting the growth and success of underrepresented businesses. Her extensive experience, technical expertise, and commitment to supporting small businesses and LGBTQ entrepreneurs make her a truly influential figure in the construction industry.

Walter Contreras

Walter Contreras is our President at Morgner Construction Management bringing more than 15 years of experience in the construction industry. Having been with Morgner for a decade, Contreras has proven his dedication and expertise within the company. His extensive background in Risk Management plays a vital role in contract negotiations, project cost management, and change order management. Notably, he has achieved remarkable success in the past two years, securing over $20 million through effective contract modifications and negotiations.

Contreras possesses a comprehensive skill set encompassing various aspects of the industry, including cost estimating, scheduling, logistics planning, cost management, and operational management. This diverse experience allows him to excel in his responsibilities, which include overseeing project acquisitions, facilitating service expansion, and driving overall company success.


Vice President

Vayakone Terry

Vayakone Terry is the Vice President at Morgner Construction Management. With an impressive 20 years of experience in the industry, she is a seasoned professional renowned for her strategic thinking and creative approach. Vayakone oversees all of Morgner's business operations, which include strategic marketing initiatives, identifying and pursuing business acquisitions, and ensuring efficient and effective day-to-day operations for a diverse range of business functions, including business development, marketing, human resources, and company brand development.

Vayakone previously served as a Project Information Manager/Proposal Coordinator for Douglas E. Barnhart Inc. (Balfour Beatty), Marketing Manager for Seville Construction Services Inc. (SCS), Creative Director for the Sax Agency, and Director of Business Operations for SGI Construction Management Inc., She is a member of the COMTO SoCal Chapter Board, dedicating her time to supporting and promoting diversity in transportation. Additionally, she volunteers with local human rights advocacy groups and food banks, demonstrating her commitment to social responsibility.


Vice President, Field Operations

Shawn Benedict

Shawn Benedict is an esteemed professional with over 30 years of experience in the construction field. He is the Vice President of Field Operations, where he oversees all projects undertaken by the company, and safety culture is of the highest standards throughout the organization.

His skill set encompasses a wide range of responsibilities, such as reviewing and evaluating plans and specifications, developing proposals and contracts, managing project budgets and change orders, and negotiating with clients' project managers and corporate officers. He also possesses a keen understanding of liability and risk management issues, construction techniques, engineering alternative evaluation, and facility management.


Vice President, Talent Acquisition

Leticia Chacon

Leticia Chacon is the VP of Talent Acquisition with over 13 years of experience in recruiting. Leticia is responsible for developing and implementing effective sourcing strategies for both short and long-term projects, ensuring the acquisition of top talent for the company's diverse client base across various industries.

Under her guidance, Morgner has experienced significant growth in its workforce. Over the past five years, she has successfully increased the company's work staff by more than 50%, ensuring that the organization has the talent and resources necessary to deliver exceptional results for clients.

Prior to joining Morgner, Leticia Chacon gained valuable experience through her internship at the Embassy of Mexico in Washington, D.C. She also worked as an Associate Attorney at a medium-sized law firm in Mexico, further enhancing her legal expertise and professional skill set. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Law from the University of Guadalajara and a Master's in Political Science from California State University, Fullerton.


Partner and COO

Andrew D’Alfonso

Andrew D'Alfonso is a Partner and currently serves as the Chief Operations Officer. Under his leadership, the Energy Division has experienced remarkable growth, expanding by 60% and securing significant contracts with major transit agencies across the United States. Notable clients include LA Metro, Caltrans, Metrolink, BART, the Washington State Department of Transportation, and the Seattle Department of Transportation.

Andrew brings a wealth of expertise in Electrical Engineering and renewable energy to his role, which has paved the way for the establishment of the Morgner Energy Group, a subsidiary of the Morgner Family company. The Energy Group specializes in sustainable energy projects, including the installation of Electric Vehicle (EV) Charging stations, water/wastewater technology, and support for smart buildings. The company has achieved great success in expanding EV infrastructure, having designed and installed the majority of EV Charging stations in California, Utah, and Hawaii.


Founder

Carlos E. Morgner, C.P.A

Carlos Morgner, the beloved Founder of Morgner Construction Management, made a significant impact during his tenure of 30 years with the company. Though Carlos has passed away, his legacy continues to be woven into the fabric of our everyday lives.

Throughout his career, Carlos oversaw some of the largest projects in southern California. His leadership played a crucial role in the successful completion of notable ventures, including the Metro Blue, Red, and Gold Line projects. More recently, he was instrumental in the realization of the Metro Regional Connector, the Crenshaw-LAX Transit Corridor, and the Purple Line Extension Sections 1 and 2. These projects have greatly contributed to the transportation infrastructure of the region.

Carlos's dedication to community and industry involvement was evident in his various board memberships. He served as a Board Member on the City of Los Angeles Mayor's Office for Business Development, demonstrating his commitment to fostering economic growth in the city. Furthermore, Carlos was a member of the Board of Directors for the Southern California Minority Business Development Council, where he actively supported the advancement of minority-owned businesses. He also held the position of Small Business Committee Chair for the Women's Transportation Seminar, advocating for women in the transportation industry. Additionally, Carlos served as a former Board Member for the Metro's Technical Business Advisory Council (TBAC), where he provided valuable insights and guidance.

Carlos's unwavering support for women, minority, and veteran-owned small businesses was exemplified through his innovative approaches aimed at fostering their long-term success. By promoting inclusivity and providing opportunities for these underrepresented entrepreneurs, he contributed to the creation of local and diverse economic growth.

Though we deeply mourn the loss of Carlos, his indelible contributions to Morgner and the broader community will forever be cherished. His vision, leadership, and commitment to empowering others continue to guide us as we carry forward his legacy.
